Broken scaphoid hand bones in assault, attacker prosecuted, can I claim compensation for injuries?

I have a scaphoid break from an assault how much compensation would I be looking at.

I was jumped by a lad with a bat or a two by four wooden stick, he swung the object at my head and I popped my left hand up in front of face and blocked it, when the lad went to swing again I knocked him out with my other hand.

As I was walking away and the adrenaline of the moment wore off my left hand was in agonising pain and throbbing and I have since not been able to make a fist or use my hand properly as I feel I have lost some dexterity in my fingers.
The doctor said I have severely broken my hand, this is devastating to me as I am a boxer.

The police have investigated the incident and seen that the other fella was the aggressor after seeing the whole thing recorded on CCTV video evidence.

Can I claim compensation for a personal injury like this?

Will I get more money for criminal injuries?

Yes all bin done and on cctv
