I am just looking to find out if its worth while claiming compensation from my employer for a needle stick injury.
I was a cleaner working in a homeless unit shelter and a resident placed or lost broken needles in the bedding. A resident has been diagnosis with HIV and hep c so have had all treatment and checks over the last month.
I was expected to wash some blood stained bedding, that's when I got the injury, is my employer responsible or liable for this accident?
I was provided with rubber gloves but the needle went straight through my PPE.
How much compensation could I be entitled to for a needlestick injury?
