Can I claim compensation for a slip and fall accident in store because of a customer?

I had a slip and fall accident that was not my fault in a major supermarket store and I want to make a claim.
I slipped on some food that a customer had left on the floor, I have filled in the store accident book, would I be able to claim compensation from the store for this accident?
