Hi
I am a sales assistant and was working at our Debenhams store the other day, we were just starting in the morning and I followed my colleague into the store from the outside through an open door but as I walked in the automatic door shut on me and bruised my arm.
It didn't stop when it hit me, it just slammed shut and trapped my arm. Another member of staff then had to hit the button to reopen it.
Is this something I can complain about? I was not seriously injured but I was hurt and my arm is badly bruised, I have pictures as evidence along with CCTV footage of the incident and now I am nervous going through the doors.
If I did make a claim for compensation against Debenhams could I also lose my job? I want to know if its worth making a claim for a work related injury?
How much compensation could I even receive for some bad bruising?
Thanks, I could really do with some free legal advice
