Hi, I would like some help getting some free legal advice, may i claim on an accident at my work if I am a self employed worker?
I sliped and fell on my back at work and the doctor has said I have whiplash and that I will not be able to go back to work with a 3 week prognosis off my doctor and agonising pain in my back.
I was washing a car and slipped over, the floor was soaked in soapy water and had no features like grips or studs to stop anyone from slipping over.
I slipped because the water was on the ground creating a dangerous slippery surface and the management had made no effort to clean up the mess or brush away the water and there were no hazard or warning signs.
The accident took place when i was washing and cleaning a car because I am a worker for a valeting service, normally I am mobile in a van and clean cars wherever required, but this incident took place in the company car wash.
Can I claim compensation for back injury from a slip and fall accident in car wash?
Or would an accident of this nature be considered an occupational hazard.
