Can I claim compensation for personal injuries if I was assaulted by a bouncer on a night out in town through no fault of my own but I was drunk.
A night club door man has broken my cheek bone and fractured my orbital eye socket bone I am now due to have surgery on my eye and an operation to put steel plates in my face on my cheeks tomorrow.
Would I get a pay out for damages even though I had consumed alcohol?
I really did nothing to provoke him and he dragged me out the club, choking me from behind and threw me on to the ground head first where I banged my head and he punched me several times on the floor.
I'm not sure why he did this, I think it was either a mistake or he did not like the look of me and was overly aggressive or mentally ill.
Either way I have reported the incident to the police who are investigating the matter as a crime, CCTV evidence on camera of video footage clearly show him attack me.
Could I claim compensation from the club or sue the doorman for my injuries and trauma from the assault?
Any help from legal expert is appreciated
