Can I claim compensation for medical negligence for being given cream to put on chemical burns?

My head got burnt by bleach while in the hairdressers.
i put savlon on the burn because the hospital told me to use savlon on the chemical burn and if it got worse to see my gp, so I went to see my doctor and ive been told not to put creams on burns

Now I am trying to sue the stylist but I am also worried that I have put cream on the burn, could I claim for medical negligence for the wrong treatment for the burns too?
