Can I claim compensation for PTSD and anxiety from a criminal attack?

I was robbed by 3 men who assaulted me, held me down and held a knife to my throat, they took all my money and suffered many cuts and bruises, I have reported this to the police and since the incident I have been suffering severe anxiety and struggling to sleep, I have been to my GP and the doctor said I have PTSD, can I claim compensation for post traumatic stress disorder after an attack?
