Hi I'm looking for some free legal advice, I had a slip and fall accident down a flight of public stairs that was not my fault, how do I claim compensation?
I live in a block of council flats and I live on the top floor where the only way to access the floor I live on is by the communal stairs shared by the neighbours.
The stairs are plain smooth concrete steps with no sort of grip so when the weather is bad and its raining the stairs are always sloppy and wet from the foot prints of other occupiers.
We reported it to the landlord last year about the stairs being slippery and wet and they haven't done anything about it, there are no hazard or warning signs and the public steps have been left in a dangerous condition.
When I was going down the stairs yesterday I have slipped and fell down the stairs and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do?
I fell on my bum and fractured my coccyx tail bone and injured my back and I am in a lot of pain and had to miss work.
Can I claim compensation for slip & fall accident down steps on slippery public stairs in block of flats?
