Hello there, I had a nasty trip and fall accident on a hazardous public pathway.
I was walking home from the shop down a street on the side walk, I had a plastic bag in one hand but was not unbalanced, I caught my shoe on a loose paving stone that was elevated above the others, it looked like something had broken it years ago and I have a picture on my phone as photographic evidence.
As I tripped and fell over I landed on my knee and tried to put my arm out to save myself but slipped and banged my head hard.
I was in a lot of pain and felt groggy, I went to the doctors and he told me I had a severe concussion and fractured knee and fractured wrist.
The pavement needed to be repaired, the loose stone was a danger and I really hurt myself.
Can I sue the local council for negligence for leaving the street unrepaired?
If so how much compensation could I claim for my personal injuries, and would I be able to claim back my wages as I was unable to work for a couple of weeks?
Many thanks
