Hi I've recently fractured my leg and ankle in an accident at work, where I had a trip and fall after a heavy object fell on my foot.
I am a self employed labourer with a company on a building site but I have no insurance.
How the accident happened was me and another person was lifting a steel beam, it was heavy and the other co worker was inexperienced and kept jolting the beam in carry, it slipped out my hands even though I had gloves on and the beam fell and struck my leg and grinded and scraped down over my shin and onto my foot and I tripped forward and fractured my shine as it fell against the steal beam.
The fracture starts just at the bottom of my leg bone and carry's on to my ankle.
The doctors at the hospital said my injury was severe and I would be unable to walk properly for a few months.
Also I will now be out of work with my injury.
Can I claim compensation for a work related injury and claim lost earnings against my employer, the company?
Any free legal advice would really help
