Can I claim compensation from the shop for a trip and fall accident? fell banged my knee

I have had a trip and fall accident that was not my fault last year and I broke my toe and injured my knee, do I still have time to claim compensation?

It was in summer time 2017 and it was warm out so I was wearing flip flops and standard sunny weather appropriate clothing.

I went round to the local shop for a drink, the shop is old and messy and needs redoing and repairing or something anyway, I was walking out the shop when I tripped on the shop door way and hurt my self.

I caught the front of my sandal in the doorway across the floor, there was a weather guard strip that stuck up and perturbed a couple of inches, it was a tripping hazard and I caught my caught on it and went flying on the concrete outside the shop.

I trapped my great big toe and broke it and banged my knee and had cuts and grazes all over my hands and arms, the doctor signed me off work for 2 weeks with my injuries.

Thank you for your enquiry. I am very sorry to hear of your injury.

There is a limitation period of 3 years when making a personal injury claim, so I am please to advise that you would still qualify to make a claim.

We have to obtain what is known as a medico-legal report to support any claim for personal injury compensation. This is a straight forward process and we would take care of this and arrange the appointment for you. Once we have that report we would know how much your claim is likely to be worth. Generally speaking it depends on how long it takes you to recover. From what you have explained, you could receive around £6, 500 upwards.

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us on 0800 073 8804. We would be happy to help!
