Can I claim for loss of earnings for a road traffic accident in my business vehicle?

I am self employed as a plasterer and I work out of my van everyday.
I was in a car accident that was not my fault, I was hit from behind by another driver and I have hurt my back, how much could I claim?

While my van has been getting repaired I have lost a lot of money and missed out on some high value job contracts, can I claim back the money I have missed out on because of this accident?

Hi Alvin,

I am sorry to hear of your injuries. From what you have advised, I am happy to advise that you would be eligible for a claim.

We have to obtain what is known as a medico-legal report to support any claim for personal injury compensation. This is a straight forward process and we would take care of this and arrange the appointment for you. Once we have that report we would know how much your claim is likely to be worth. Generally speaking it depends on how long it takes you to recover. If, say, it took you around 18 months to make a recovery from the injuries sustained in the accident then you would expect to receive around £5500.00.

We would support you throughout the whole process.
