Can you claim as a passenger if your driver is at fault?

I was involved in a car accident earlier this year as a back seat passenger in a high impact collision. The car I was traveling in was driving in the fast lane when the car in front of us suddenly broke and we were unable to stop in time. I suffered injuries to my neck, head and my right leg and have since been to visit the hospital for a CT scan and x ray of my leg. I've been given medication from the hospital and been advised by my family members to get in contact to see if I can be helped further through a car accident health insurance provider so any advice on where to start would be really appreciated.

Hey Humpertle, you absolutely can make a claim as a passenger. Whenever there's a traffic collision anyone involved (except for the person found at fault) can make a claim. So yourself, any other passenger involved, the driver/passengers in the other vehicle would all be eligible. The claim would be going against the driver of your vehicle's insurance directly, if they haven't contacted you already then you can speak to them to make the claim if you wanted to. Other than that you can contact a personal injury solicitor to make the claim on your behalf. Hope this helps :)
