I was in a car accident and I am worried who is at fault, I was pulling into the other lane on a duel carriageway when I moved to get out of the way the make space for emergency vehicle sirens coming from a fire engine truck, they just turned the lights and horn on as they got close to me and didn't give me enough time to manoeuvre safely.
As I pulled into the other lane, another driver, driving quickly but within the speed limit, rear ended me and smashed into the back of me hard as the fire fighters went past, I felt like I couldn't have done anything, but maybe the other driver was distracted or put off by the fire fighters as well, either way the crash damaged my car and hurt my back.
I was diagnosed with whiplashed and had muscular bruising all over my chest, shoulder and stomach.
I got my compensation from insurance for damages to my car but would also like to claim for personal injuries and maybe even sue the fire department for reckless endangerment and unsafe practice.
But if they decide its my fault will my insurance will go up, will i lose my no claims bonus, they insurance company have not decided who is liable yet and if I lose a case would I be stuck with all the solicitor fees and legal costs?
