I was moving a resident to sit up posistion while waiting for my work colleague to get the resident up and the resident tryed to stand, I sat the resident up from lieing down in her and wobbled so I moved to catch her save her banging her head on table and as she fell she pulled on me and sprained my back, I was signed of sick but because of the medication I am on I went back to work and done a 6 hour shift and cont hardly move now, My own doctor wasn't happy me going back but I cant do it I am in pain and struggling.
I am fully trained and qualified as a care assistant and she is able to move and assist her self just chooses not to, the home is a residential home not nursing and the resident hasn't been reassessed properly,, she has already gone to throw her self in the floor a few times and it's all been documented, what information will I need to give to make a claim?
Also, does it effect me working in my job ? I dont want to get laid off or cause legal trouble with my employers you see.
