How much compensation can I claim for a broken shin leg bone from an accident at work?

Hello I had a complete break and dislocation of my ankle at work where a piece of waste cardboard box rubbish was left out in the stock room warehouse floor, I caught my foot and ended up tripping a falling.

I ended up having an op in hospital to repair the injury by inserting a metal plate, screws and wiring the tibia and fibula together and in the operation there was a piece of broken bone off too. How much Compensation can I claim for a broken leg from an accident at work?

Now I am only on statutory sick pay, is this right? What is the process if I wanted to make a claim against the company of my employer please?

Hi Norman,

I am sorry to hear this. From what you have advised, it certainly sounds like you have a claim.

We have to obtain what is known as a medico-legal report to support any claim for personal injury compensation. This is a straight forward process and we would take care of this and arrange the appointment for you. Once we have that report we would know how much your claim is likely to be worth. Generally speaking it depends on how long it takes you to recover. If, say, it took you around 24 months to make a recovery from the neck and back injuries sustained in the accident then you would may receive around £12,000 upwards

We can also assist in claiming back your loss of earnings as part of your special damages.
We would support you throughout the whole process.
