How much compensation can I claim for a severe stab wound from a robbery?

I was heading to work at night and on my way I got mugged and stabbed.
I had my money and phone stolen after being stabbed in the stomach and after going to hospital I had to get a colostomy bag, how much could I be entitled to for this?
I made a report to the police and they have arrested someone and we are waiting for the trial in court, do I need to wait for a conviction to claim?
