I had an accident staying at a hotel and now I am in pain and unable to work, can I make a claim?

I slipped on some stairs that had been mopped and there was not wet floor signs left out and I had to go to hospital in A and E and the doctors told me I have slipped discs in my back and will require physiotherapy, how much compensation can I claim?
