How much compensation can I claim for permanent nerve damage from whiplash?

I was in a RTA that was not my fault and it was a terrible car crash on the road, I got hit from behind with such force that I have suffered from severe whiplash and I have been told that I may have permanent nerve damage, How do I claim compensation for life long injuries in a road traffic accident? How much could I be entitled to for permanent nerve damage from non fault collision?
