I had a trip and fall accident in a public place that was not my fault and suffered a personal injury as a result.

I tripped and fell over a fallen road work sign just left on the pavement in the street, it was a tripping hazard and I had a nasty accident, landed on my knee and injured my leg, but I am still not sure I was hurt enough to claim though.

I caught my foot under the sign left in an unsafe place by road workers, I went flying and banged my knee and scrapped my shin and leg.

I have pictures on my phone as photographic evidence of the sign on the floor and my leg injuries just after the accident.

I have a painful sore, bruised and swollen knee and I am having trouble walking with a limp, I have cuts, scratches and scrapes all the way up my shin knee and leg.

The doctor says I am just hurt with some soft tissue damage and I will have to take a few days off work.
Can I claim against the council for accidents involving road works?
