Hi, we need some free legal advice. My friend had an accident at work that was not her fault yesterday and I am looking for some info on how to claim compensation for work related injuries.

She works at the Jacobs cracker bakery factory and is employed by United Biscuits.

I believe her employers are liable for her injury, they did not give her any of the standard PPE safety gloves required to operate the machinery and even had to stand on her toes because she could not reach the top of the machine and she wanted to move some biscuits and the machine cut her hand.

She had a bad cut on her hand and was taken to a&e by her manager.
Can she still claim if management have taken her for medical attention?

The doctors in the hospital said that its just a bad cut but she may have sliced the tendons and ligaments in her hand, in which case her injury could be debilitating and she's waiting for stitches.

Can she claim compensation for an accident at work from United Biscuits for not providing PPE?
