My husband died due to medical negligence proven in an investigation, is there a bog standard amount of compensation for these circumstance, I'm extremely emotional when talking about this and not willing to take on such a big case if they are going to insult me with a small offer of compo, I am already dealing with a broken family and been diagnosed by my doctor now with depression and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
The cardiovascular specialist unit said my husband had a dangerously unusual heart beat rhythm called arrhythmia and was at increased risk of heart failure, he was referred for an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) and put on a waiting list for Manchester Royal Infirmary, but he died before they performed the operation after waiting months for surgery, investigation read he would have survived if he had had the operation, the referral went by email to 5 different surgeons, not one request was picked up by the doctors so he never even made it on the waiting list and died of a heart attack at home in bed aged just 42 years old, the investigation is now complete with the admission of negligence by all involved, I am more concerned of the guilty being punished and preventing this tragic and unnecessary loss happening to anyone else than financial gain, id just put any compo pay out into a trust fund for our child.
If I could get some free legal advice in the chat on here it would be helpful for me to make a claim as I am not comfortable talking about this in person or on the phone.
