Is statutory sick pay all I am entitled to while off with a work related injury?

I work as a warehouse operative and recently had to take time off with a work-related injury.

A crate had been opened and not properly resealed, the forklift moved it outside and the lid blew off and fell on me.

I injured my shoulder and ruptured the tendons in my arm, I have been unable to work for a month now and may have to get surgery, how much compensation can I received for ruptured tendons from an accident at work?

Since I have been off I have received statutory sick pay, will this effect whether I can claim or not? The sick pay is not as much as my normal wages, will I still be able to claim for loss of earnings?

I appreciate any legal guidance you can give me

This must have been incredibly painful.

I am pleased to advise that based on the circumstances you have described, it is our opinion that you are entitled to make a claim for compensation against your employer.

In relation to your question regarding how much compensation you will receive, this is entirely dependent upon medical evidence. Medical evidence is obtained to both prove causation (the injuries where sustained as a direct result of the incident that has occurred) and provide a basis upon which we as your legal representative can accurately place a valuation upon your claim. However, as an estimate, based on the information you have provided, we believe that you could receive up to £11,200.00.

We will also be able to assist with claiming back your loss of earnings.
