Medical Negligence led to near fatal pulmonery embolism, how much can I claim?

I had a car accident in about a year ago and I've been going back and fourth to the doctors about not feeling right and pain in my neck, back and chest and loss of sensation from the knee down, constantly chasing things up and made to feel like a nuisance.

But because I already have existing conditions my gp dismissed me and just told me to take tonic water, so a week later I then went cause I couldn't breath and my inhalers didn't seem to help open my airways and the pain in my spine and pins and needles in my leg was getting worse, but again he dismissed my medical issues and sent home, then the day after I collapsed, mostly from a lack of oxygen where I couldn't take a proper breath and exhaustion from the pain, but when I was rushed to hospital in an ambulance and the specialist doctors there told me I've had a pulmonary embolism in lungs both, and there is multiple clots in both of them.

Now I'm on medication for life with a potential fatal condition and they told me I was very lucky and it could have been avoided if caught in time.

I'm not sure what to do as I feel let down by my doctors and the medication prescribed has caused my teeth to rot from the inside out, all because I waited months for a referral only to be turned away and left to deteriorate.

I want to make a claim for medical negligence and get a compensation pay out for my PE, the other factors I can live with, what would I have to do to sue the so called professionals for malpractice that almost caused me to die? and how much money I could I be compensated in this case?
