Non fault car accident, severe whiplash, neck strain and back ache, estimate claim compensation?

My gf was taken to hospital after a car crash today and left in emergency room all day until the afternoon.
She had a road traffic accident this morning where she sustained severe whiplash, neck strain and back ache, I was ok and could drive the car to the hospital.

I was the passenger and my girlfriend was driving at the time of the accident and the other driver was at fault because he hit our vehicle from behind and admitted liability, I took his insurance details and then took my gf to A&E, where she was diagnosed with severe whiplash and had a 4 weeks prognosis.

My lower back had tingles at the impact from the car, since then it has been ok. I have an appointment booked with the doctor anyway to have a check over.

How much can we claim for personal injuries?

Also I think she will be out of work for a while struggling with back pain and may even get laid off, will we be able to recover loss of earnings?

And if we make an accident claim through Legal expert can we expect to receive any physiotherapy for her condition as part of the compensation without it affecting our money pay out amount?

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your enquiry. I am sorry to hear of your gf's injuries.

I am please to advise that she would qualify to make a claim.

We have to obtain what is known as a medico-legal report to support any claim for personal injury compensation. This is a straight forward process and we would take care of this and arrange the appointment for your gf. Once we have that report we would know how much your gf's claim is likely to be worth. Generally speaking it depends on how long it takes you to recover. From the injuries you have explained, if the injuries last around 4 weeks, you could receive around £1,500.

If the injuries take longer to recover, you gf would be entitled to more.

We would also be able to claim back any loss of earnings is she requires time off.
