I suffered a work related injury in a Supermarket where I am employed.
I injured my back in work and it wasn't my fault and I just wanted to know if it was possible to get a claim for compensation off of the supermarket.
I work for a supermarket retail store and I had to pull the cages of stock into the big freezer, but there's no ramp part so I had to lift the cage up and mount the ledge my self and my back strained too much and gave in and I had to go hospital, the doctors told my I have slipped bulging discs in my spine and should not have been made to move such a heavy load without some form of assistance or machinery.
I was out of work for a while but couldn't afford any more time off so had to go back, but it's left me with a permanent weakness in my back and it's with other personal problems as well.
I haven't received formal training just had to so a computer quiz when I started working there and they expect you to just go.
Can I claim for my injuries from the supermarket without losing my job?
And if I do will I be liable for any costs or legal fees?
