Just looking at how I could possibly make a claim as I had an accident in the workplace, I work in a supermarket superstore, where I am employed as a sales assistant, we don't get much and we are pushed hard and put under pressure, we often get hazardous stock and are left to deal with all kinds of problems, but I want to do something about the poor health and safety standards of the management in our shop after I had a slip at work and caused damage to my shoulder.
I was made to finish the rest of the shift without the full use of my arm because the boss made me feel I could lose my job, but when I got home the agonising pain persisted, so I went to my doctor who told me I had actually broken my shoulder and fractured my arm, I slipped on food that was not cleared up, it was slippery and wet and was a danger to anyone who walked over, but no one cleaned it up or put any warning or hazard signs up to prevent an accident.
No signs was out and don't think it went in book either, the management don't care.
Can I make a claim for compensation against my employers?
Or is there I chance I could lose, get hit with legal fees and get fired?
