Hi I just want to know would I have a claim for compensation for a trip and fall i had in my workplace.
the accident at work was not my fault, I am employed as a bar tender in a pub, its just a part time job and I haven't been working there long but was made to use a hazardous stair case without being warned of the danger.
One busy Saturday the boss is rushing everyone around and putting us under pressure, I had never went down stairs to the basement since starting and the manager asked me to go down the stair case to grab a bottle of wine.
I went down in to the wine cellar and I went flying when I tripped on a faulty, wobbly step that caught my toe as it moved, I fell face first down the steps and broke my arm and banged my head and got knocked out.
I went to hospital and got my arm put in a cast for few weeks and have a concussion.
Can I claim compensation for work related injuries without loosing my job or falling out with management?
