Worried about losing my job for claiming compensation for work related hand injury

Last week I accidentally put a screwdriver through my right hand while working on site and I slipped while using the tool, I am an apprentice labourer and I did not have the proper training or qualifications to do the job on my own but I was made to feel stupid and put under pressure by managers to complete the task.

After xrays and talking to the Doctors I self certified myself off work for a week till today because my hand was stiff and swollen and I was not able to use it to full function, after my review the doctor has signed me off again untill the end of the month pending another review as I have nerve tissue and muscle damage with loss of sensation of sensation to the left palm and a painful infection, I cant even rotate or move my wrist. Do you think I have a plausible claim? I think my injuries are pretty serious and I have lost out on wages so I need to compensation for loss of earnings too.

Im currently on agency could i be sacked for claiming too or will my pay out be worth getting laid off?
