How much compensation could I claim for a trip and fall accident on some unsafe stairs at work?

I recently had a accident at work an was looking for information on how to make a claim for compensation for work related injuries.

I am a labourer on a building site working for an agency on a Goodwin development, debris left on a staircase in a building plot.

How much compensation could I claim for a trip and fall accident on some unsafe stairs at work?

It was reported in the accident book as a near miss but really I was injured and they are just trying to cover their own backs.

I have a fractured my right hand as a result of the accident and have been out of work for several weeks now.
I am yet to make a decision if this is the route I am going down however, I would rather not go to court and may not need a no win no fee solicitor.

As I am in contact directly with the company over the matter, but failing negotiations make me feel I will need to sue the company.

Hi Ron,

Thank you for your enquiry. I am sorry to hear of your accident.

From what you have explained, I am happy to advise that you would qualify for a claim.

We have to obtain what is known as a medico-legal report to support any claim for personal injury compensation. This is a straight forward process and we would take care of this and arrange the appointment for you. Once we have that report we would know how much your claim is likely to be worth. Generally speaking it depends on how long it takes you to recover. If, say, it took you around 8 months to make a recovery from the neck and back injuries sustained in the accident then you could receive around £5000.00 or much more depending on how bad the fracture was.

We would also be able to claim back your loss of earnings.
